Fall blocks

I wish I had enough fabric to spell Autumn instead of Fall, but oh well, I still really like how these turned out!  I had my boyfriend saw me up some blocks out of pieces of wood, then I wrapped them with leather remnant fabric that I got at the Hob Lob a while ago.  I found a font that I liked and printed it out and traced it onto the blocks, then painted it gold!

I was really torn about how to do the letters, whether I wanted to paint them or do something else, but I think I made the right decision with the gold paint.  I used an itty bitty amount of glitter glue around the edges, just to give them a slight little shimmer.  Easy things like this can make your home feel more seasonal, without having to step foot in the store!  I think it would look great to do this as a Welcome sign, and attach them with wire and hang them on the door!  Here's what the whole setup looks like in my house:

  1. Cool! And great pictures, as always :-)Did you use a 40% coupon? I printed out 2 (one for me and one for my husband) but we didn't manage to go today. We'll go next week!
